KURANDA

The village of Kuranda is nestled in the rainforest in the mountains behind Cairns. It is an easy ½ hour drive from Trinity Beach and the gateway to explore the Atherton Tablelands. It can also be accessed by Skyrail and/or the Scenic Rail. A popular tour is to travel up on the train, spend a few hours exploring the attractions, including the Butterfly Sanctuary, and then back on Skyrail Rainforest cableway.
